Our Program
Our Little Artists Programming nurtures your child’s need to play, create, learn and grow at their own pace. We are dedicated to providing a beautiful space for Little Artists to explore, provocations to capture wonder and a loving professional teaching staff.
Now Enrolling
We are enrolling for Winter/Spring ‘24 and Accepting Applications for 24-25!
During the Winter and Spring of 2024, we’ll meet 4 days a week from 8:30am-12:30pm with the option to attend create a schedule that fits your family. For our Studio program (ages 4-6) we recommend at least 2 days for consistency. Our school year follows the Bend-LaPine school calendar.
Schedule
Each day is an emergent learning journey of play, exploration and creating that engages the natural curiosity of children and embraces the joy of the process. Each learning adventure begins with child-led observations, interests and wonder. Children explore chosen themes and concepts through invitations to create, thoughtfully designed learning provocations and nature walks integrating literacy, numeracy and science. Children develop skills around literacy, mathematics, socialization, gross and fine motor development, creative problem solving, and the arts.
Wonder-Driven Exploration
Creative Classroom
Our Little Artists classroom lives within a larger community art studio with programming for all ages. The classroom was designed to nurture creativity of our 2-6 year old artists in a homey, nature-inspired environment. Our classroom features rotating stations for all kinds of creative play including mixed media exploration, building, sensory and dramatic, as well as nature investigations and literacy. The classroom also features a climbing wall, aerial silks and play couches for movement and cozy time.
Our program is taught by Ms. Grace McHugh, a licensed teacher (with 6 years of teaching experience) and professional artist, and supported by an assistant to engage children on their creative journey. The program is guided by Wondery Director Sarah Brandt with a background in educational psychology and social emotional development.
